The married couple(Larth Tetnies And Thanchvil Tarnai)
This has to be one of my favorite pieces so far. I love this Etruscan couple because this carving is showing them in a more personal setting that no other has seen. This piece is a carving of marble rather than in clay.Look at this the couple and how they arms are arms are touching eachother. This infers that they have a lovong embrace. This carving reminds me of the movie The Notebook at the end of the movie; how the loving couple wrapped in eachother's arms with the love that can never be broken with in their self because it is so pure and unique. I adore this piece.What do you see?!
This really would put pressure on the spouse that was left if you knew you were going to be buried in this sarcophagus. Would you ever be able to find another mate to finish life's journey with if you had this looming in your future?
